IIT Kharagpur - EV20001 - How to prepare for Environmental Science End Semester exam ?
- As you already might be knowing, EVS is one of the rarest subjects at IIT which has theory questions in its Semester Papers.
- Thus, to score high it is best to memorize ewch and every slides you have at hand from your Professor.
- For Privacy and Copyright reasons I cannot share the exact slides here. Overall you should have slides about Air Pollution, Soil Pollution, Ecology and Global Warming.
- I'm not an expert or a student scoring 9 CGPA. So this is not the ideal way to study. But, this is a live journal of me studying this subject as my end semester exam approaches.
- Initially, I'm giving a fast read to all the 9 slides I have with me. There are around 4 slides with 50 pages per slide. And, remaining 5 slides have 20 pages per slide on an average.
- Although I made up my mind to fast read through the slides within 3 hours, but practically it went wrong. It has been 36 Hours and still I'm left with 3 small sized slides with 20 pages each.
- Fast reading is not memorizing anything. So it isn't helping me a lot. Yet I've already lost 36 hours of my time.
- What you should learn from this is.... You can never put a timeline on your studying routine if you're not regular with your studying habits. I've been very irregular about this subject throughout my semester. Hence, now I'm not feeling enough interest to complete my studying as per my own set timeline target.
- When you're at IIT, simply don't dare to ignore numerical Problems.
- Important Formulas :-

-
( spelling mistake Gaussian* )
( spelling mistake Gaussian* ) - Knowing the formula is not enough. So I'm using a book named Introduction to Environmental Engineering And Science written by Gilbert M. Masters and Wendell P.Ela. I'll be solving Example problems from the Air Pollution chapter of this book pertaining to the formulas mentioned above. You won't get this book inside IIT Kharagpur library. You have to buy this book. But, if you're buying it then make sure that you will also read it. I've done this several times in my life here at KGP. Buying a book and then not using or even reading it at all. Notes are always more than enough when you start studying the day before your exams.
